Camp Farwesta
is a Christian Campground and Conference Center which is available for
use by non-profit and public organizations as well as churches of all
denominations. It is owned, supported and managed by the Far West Mission
Center of the Community of Christ. It is in an ideal location just
19 miles East of the city limits of Saint Joseph, Missouri and 14 miles
West of Cameron, Missouri, on US Hwy 36. In the midst of farmland,
the campground is an 80 acre oasis of forest, large areas of open grass
and lakes. Located just 55 miles North of the greater Kansas City
metropolitan area, it is an easy commute for either day, weekend, or week
long retreats, conferences or camps. Camp Farwesta offers many different
facilities and amenities that will make your stay satisfying and rewarding.

Camp Farwesta has many long
standing users of the campground. Among them is an organization
called Peace Unlimited. Peace Unlimited's mission is to build peaceful
communities by offering activity-based educational experiences that teach
problem solving skills and teamwork while promoting self-esteem and respect
for others. Peace Unlimited conducts classes and instruction at many camps
using Camp Farwesta and conducts onsite instruction for schools, corporations
and organizations at their permanantly located low ropes training course
located on the camp grounds.
Another significant long-time
user of Camp Farwesta is Camp Quality. Camp Quality is a summer
camp for children with cancer -- and more. It crystalizes a year-round
support program for the children and their families. The Northwest Missouri
Chapter of Camp Quality has been conducting their camp for cancer victims
between the ages of 3 and 18 at Camp Farwesta for 22 years.
